Volleyball Recap: Chavez Titans vs. Weston Ranch Cougars

Chavez hadn't done well against Weston Ranch recently (they were 0-6 in their previous six matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The Titans skirted past the Cougars 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Titans have posted since March 3rd.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Chavez to victory, but perhaps none more so than Brandon Nonnarath, who had 17 kills, seven digs, and three aces. That's the most kills Nonnarath has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Aaron Vang, who had 27 digs and two assists.

Despite the loss, Weston Ranch still got an impressive performance from Michael Dayrit, who had 16 digs, two blocks, and two aces. Dayrit has been hot for a while, having also posted 16 or more assists the last ten times he's played. Josiah Navarrette also deserves some recognition as he had his first kill of the season.

With the win, Chavez broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 4-7. As for Weston Ranch, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-12.

Chavez didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-0 loss against McNair on the 7th. As for Weston Ranch, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-0 defeat against Edison on the 7th.
