Football Game Preview: Molalla vs. Astoria

After two weeks on the road, Molalla is heading back home. On Friday they take on Astoria at 7:00 PM. It might come down to the wire as the MaxPreps rankings project a close game.

We expected Molalla to have trouble with the significantly higher ranked Seaside last Friday, and they did. Molalla suffered a grim 7-36 defeat to Seaside. This makes it the second loss in a row for Molalla.

Meanwhile, after having lost a blowout in their matchup two weeks ago against Banks, Astoria were happy to find some success last Friday. Astoria walked away with a 25-12 victory over Tillamook. The win was a breath of fresh air for Astoria as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Astoria's victory lifted them to 2-4 while Molalla's defeat dropped them down to 2-4. We'll find out if Astoria can add another positive mark to their record or if Molalla can shake off the defeat and take the spring out of Astoria's step.
