Softball Game Preview: Choctawhatchee Indians vs. Navarre Raiders

The Choctawhatchee Indians are taking a road trip to take on the Navarre Raiders at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.

Choctawhatchee's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They blew past Bethlehem 15-0. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Indians considering their one-run performance the game before.

Angel Wilson was incredible, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI. Alivia Vaughan was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 4-for-4.

Choctawhatchee always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .545. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bethlehem only posted an OBP of .222.

Meanwhile, Navarre gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 9-3 margin over Northview.

Kayden Riddle spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on nine hits and racked up six Ks.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Libby Lewis, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in RBI (three). Another player making a difference was Nadia Rivera, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and three RBI.

Choctawhatchee came out on top in a nail-biter against Navarre when the teams last played back in April of 2024, sneaking past 7-5. The rematch might be a little tougher for Choctawhatchee since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
