Softball Recap: Jimtown Comes Up Short

Jimtown dropped down to 14-9 on Friday, ending the team's three-game streak of wins. They fell just short of the La Porte Slicers by a score of 10-9. The Jimmies were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Slicers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2025.

Lily Gaugler was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Another player making a difference was Nora Hochstetler, who went 3-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

As for La Porte, they pushed their record up to 11-13 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory they have posted against Jimtown since April 17, 2017.

On La Porte's side, the team relied heavily on Shayla Sorg, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Evie Travis was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs.

Coming up, Jimtown will venture away from home to take on Bremen at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
