Basketball Recap: Tuesday's Win Is Washington's Seventh in Last Nine Outings

Washington hadn't done well against Prairie recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Washington Warriors walked away with a 62-54 win over the Prairie Hawks. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Warriors' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 77th, while the Hawks are ranked fifth).

Washington has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-11 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.7 points over those games. As for Prairie, their defeat dropped their record down to 19-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Washington will venture away from home to challenge Iowa City at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Prairie, they will head out to square off against Johnston at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
