Baseball Recap: Marysville Comes Up Short

Marysville blew Center out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Wednesday Center got their revenge. The Indians fell just short of the Cougars by a score of 4-2. The Indians were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cougars apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Marysville saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Devin Lopes, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI. Lopes has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.

Marysville dropped their record down to 5-18-1 with the defeat, which was their eighth straight on the road. As for Center, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 10-9-1.

Looking ahead, Center will square off against Sutter at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Huskies will roll in looking for their 11th straight win, something the Cougars surely won't give up without a fight. Marysville will be paying especially close attention to Center's match: after Center faces off against Sutter, they'll take on Marysville again at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
