Baseball Game Preview: Desert Ridge Jaguars vs. Queen Creek Bulldogs

Desert Ridge hasn't had much luck against Queen Creek recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Jaguars will be playing in front of their home fans against the Bulldogs at 3:45 p.m.

On Thursday, Desert Ridge came up short against Highland and fell 6-3.

Desert Ridge saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kelton Floan, who went 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Queen Creek faced Williams Field in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Bulldogs walked away with a 10-5 victory over the Black Hawks. The win was nothing new for the Bulldogs as they're now sitting on four straight.

Cody Cooper looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in seven consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Queen Creek let Jordan Ransom and Jet Berry run wild. Ransom went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles, while Berry went 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Those three RBI gave Ransom a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Alex Gamboa, who went 1-for-4 with one home run.

Queen Creek's victory bumped their record up to 15-6. As for Desert Ridge, their loss dropped their record down to 8-15.
