Basketball Recap: Porter Wood's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Eagle over Madison

Eagle and Madison squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Eagle had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Madison Bobcats by a score of 48-45. The Mustangs have been going strong on the season, but this is now their second defeat in a row.

Several Mustangs players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Porter Wood, who posted ten points and five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Bella Thompson, who scored ten points.

Even though they lost, Eagle was working as a unit and finished the game with 11 assists. This was only their third loss (out of 21 games) when they've passed the ball that well.

Eagle's loss dropped their record down to 19-6. As for Madison, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 17-8.

Eagle wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 56-53 defeat against Rigby on the 21st. As for Madison, they have also already played their next contest, a 39-35 loss against Boise on the 21st.
