Basketball Recap: Pocatello's Victory on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Seven

Pocatello waltzed into their contest on Thursday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. They came out on top against the Idaho Falls Tigers by a score of 66-58. Given the Thunder's advantage in MaxPreps' Idaho basketball rankings (they are ranked ninth, while the Tigers are ranked 49th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Leading Pocatello to victory were Kennasyn Garza and Abby Lusk. Garza dropped a double-double on 21 points and 12 boards, while Lusk posted 21 points and eight rebounds. Garza has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last six times she's played. Taylee Rogers was another key player, putting up nine points and seven steals.

Pocatello's victory was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 19-2. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.8 points per game. As for Idaho Falls, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-11 record this season.

Pocatello does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Idaho Falls has also already played their next game, a 54-49 loss against Shelley on the 4th.
