Baseball Game Preview: Alamosa Mean Moose vs. Eagle Valley Devils

Alamosa hasn't had much luck against Eagle Valley recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Alamosa Mean Moose will take on the Eagle Valley Devils in a tournament on Friday. Eagle Valley took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Alamosa, who comes in off a win.

Alamosa picked up another tournament win on Thursday. They walked away with an 11-8 victory over Montrose. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Mean Moose.

The team relied heavily on Jaidyn Burciaga, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Jo David, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Alamosa was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .381. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .310 or higher in nine consecutive matches dating back to last season.

Meanwhile, Eagle Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 11th straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against Summit, falling 11-0.

Eagle Valley's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Alamosa, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Alamosa might still be hurting after the 8-1 defeat they got from Eagle Valley when the teams last played back in March of 2024. Can Alamosa avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
