Football Game Preview: Dallas Mountaineers vs. Valley View Cougars

The Dallas Mountaineers will head out on the road to take on the Valley View Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Dallas will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

Dallas is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They blew past Lake-Lehman 44-6 on Friday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.

Dallas' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Talan Geskey, who threw for 158 yards and four touchdowns while completing 91.7% of his passes, and also rushed for 38 yards and one TD. That's the most passing yards Geskey has posted since back in September. A healthy portion of Geskey's aerial production (118 yards to be exact) went to Logan Geskey, who also brought in two receiving touchdowns.

Dallas didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Trevor Slavinski and Bobby Gallagher.

Meanwhile, Valley View was able to grind out a solid win over Wallenpaupack Area on Friday, taking the game 20-7. The victory continues a trend for the Cougars in their matchups with the Buckhorns: they've now won seven in a row.

Valley View's win came from a few key players Dallas will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Brady Bachman, who rushed for 87 yards and one score. He didn't just play on offense: he also made four total tackles and defended one pass.

Valley View's record is now 6-4. As for Dallas, the win got them back to even at 5-5.

Dallas was taken down by Valley View 41-14 when the teams last played back in November of 2024. Can the Mountaineers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
