Baseball Game Preview: Pajaro Valley Grizzlies vs. Seaside Spartans

For the second straight game, Pajaro Valley will face off against Seaside. The Grizzlies will square off against the Spartans at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Considering Pajaro Valley has lost six straight at home (dating back to last season) and Seaside ten straight on the road (also dating back to last season), this one might come down to who's more desperate to change their momentum.

Pajaro Valley will bounce into Thursday's matchup after beating Seaside, who they had gone 0-9 against in their nine prior meetings. The Grizzlies were the clear victors by a 14-3 margin over the Spartans on Tuesday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Grizzlies considering their two-run performance the contest before.

Roy Sanchez made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, earning two RBI, one run, and one stolen base. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Brandon Perez-Moreno was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and two doubles. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Dorian Reyna, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

Pajaro Valley's win bumped their record up to 2-13. As for Seaside, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-14.
