Softball Recap: Apex Has No Trouble Against Cary

While Apex put up plenty of runs on Tuesday, the same can't be said for Cary. The Cougars put the hurt on the Imps with a sharp 18-0 victory. The Cougars haven't had any issues with the Imps recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.

Audrey Mulaski made a splash no matter where she played. She tossed 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Mulaski was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with three RBI and one run. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Leah Kendall was incredible, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, three stolen bases, and three runs. She has been hot for a while, having posted at least one stolen base the last ten times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Addie Louder, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Apex was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .619. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Apex now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Cary, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-11.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Apex beat the Imps by a score of 18-0 on Wednesday.
