Softball Recap: Fillmore Central/Lanesboro Takes a Loss

Fillmore Central/Lanesboro had lost four straight at home, but on Tuesday they dropped their record down to 2-15 to make it five. They came up short against the Chatfield Gophers, falling 13-2. The Falcons were not able to make up for their loss to the Gophers from their previous meeting back in May of 2024.

Fillmore Central/Lanesboro saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jensyn Storhoff, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run. Storhoff is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played.

As for Chatfield, their record now sits at 13-2. The result was nothing new for the Gophers, who have now won nine matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

On Chatfield's side, they got a massive performance out of Makenna Dornack, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, six RBI, and one double. Those six RBI gave Dornack a new career-high. Kendall Knutson also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Fillmore Central/Lanesboro will host Caledonia at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Chatfield, they will welcome Dover-Eyota at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Eagles' pitching crew has only allowed 3.9 runs per game this season, so the Gophers' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
