Indiana high school football rankings: No. 1 Cathedral meets No. 2 Center Grove in battle of unbeatens

Fighting Irish, Trojans meet in regular season finale before heading into separate postseason brackets.

Indiana high school football gets a dandy to end the regular season as No. 1 takes on No. 2 to end the regular season. Top-ranked Cathedral (Indianapolis) travels to No. 2 Center Grove (Greenwood) on Friday in a battle of 8-0 teams.

The Fighting Irish remained at the head of the Hoosier State Top 25 rankings with 49-7 home win over Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory (Indianapolis) on Friday. Quarterback Nathan McCahill completed 15-of-21 for 166 and three touchdowns while adding two scores on the ground with 86 yards rushing.

The second-ranked Trojans took care of No. 7 Lawrence North (Indianapolis) 28-13 as Carson Steele ran for 175 yards on 32 carries and three TDs.

After Friday's meeting, the top schools head to the postseason in separate playoff brackets.



The biggest mover of the week was No. 10 Whiteland, which jumped seven spots after its 49-13 win over Plainfield. No. 24 Columbus East (Columbus) was the lone squad to climb into the rankings, rising two spots after its 56-0 blanking of Seymour.
