Basketball Recap: Providence Country Day Knights vs. Prout Crusaders
Providence Country Day and Prout squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Providence Country Day had to settle for second. They received a blow as they fell 59-40 to the Prout Crusaders. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Crusaders this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 60-43 back in January.
Lawson O'Hearn was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double with 16 points and 21 rebounds for Prout. O'Hearn's evening made it 11 games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points. Another player making a difference was Charlie Horne, who posted 17 points and seven boards.
Providence Country Day is on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-13. As for Prout, they pushed their record up to 15-8 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.
Providence Country Day does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Prout, they will venture away from home to face off against Ponaganset at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Prout knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 17 contests -- so hopefully Ponaganset likes a good challenge.
