There's no place like home for Girard, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 65-62 win over the Labette County Grizzlies on Friday. The Trojans' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Several Grizzlies players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kegan Bates, who went 6 for 11 en route to 14 points and three steals. Nolan Nash was another key player, going 6 of 9 on his way to 14 points along with seven boards and three steals.

Girard picked up their first home victory, bumping their record up to 2-4-2. As for Labette County, they dropped their record down to 3-7 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.

Girard has already played their next game, a 0-0 tie against Sabetha on the 25th. As for Labette County, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 57-51 defeat against Independence on the 25th.
