Basketball Game Preview: San Rafael Bulldogs vs. Marin Academy Wildcats

The San Rafael Bulldogs just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face the Marin Academy Wildcats at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Marin Academy took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on San Rafael, who comes in off a win.

San Rafael will head into Friday's contest hoping to keep the good times rolling: they proved they can win big on Thursday (they won by 26) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged Lowell out 54-51. The 54-point effort marked the Bulldogs' lowest-scoring game of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Meanwhile, Marin Academy entered their matchup against Saint Mary's two weeks ago without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. Marin Academy came up short against Saint Mary's, falling 75-50. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 398th, while the Panthers are ranked 73rd).

Marin Academy's loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-5. As for San Rafael, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season.

San Rafael was able to grind out a solid victory over Marin Academy in their previous meeting back in December of 2021, winning 64-52. Does San Rafael have another victory up their sleeve, or will Marin Academy turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
