Basketball Game Preview: Prairie View Thunderhawks vs. Riverdale Ridge Ravens

The Prairie View Thunderhawks will take on the Riverdale Ridge Ravens at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Prairie View has struggled recently with 12 defeats in a row, while Riverdale Ridge will arrive with four straight wins.

Last Thursday, Prairie View was beaten by Westminster 54-22.

Prairie View's loss came about despite a quality game from Ava Campbell, who posted six points.

Meanwhile, Riverdale Ridge won against The Classical Academy on Saturday with 79 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Tuesday. Riverdale Ridge blew past Northglenn 79-16. The Ravens have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine games by 25 points or more this season.

Prairie View better keep an eye on Brihanna Crittendon. She was instrumental in Riverdale Ridge's win, going 12 for 16 en route to 30 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. That makes it five consecutive games in which Crittendon has scored at least a third of Riverdale Ridge's points. Payton Meineke was another key player, putting up ten points and four steals.

Riverdale Ridge smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive rebounds in seven consecutive matchups.

Riverdale Ridge has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 28.4 points per game. As for Prairie View, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-17.

Prairie View took a serious blow against Riverdale Ridge in their previous meeting back in January, falling 86-12. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Crittendon, who went 13 of 18 on her way to 26 points in addition to seven boards and seven steals.
