Basketball Game Preview: Squalicum Storm vs. Lakewood Cougars + How To Watch

The Squalicum Storm are taking a road trip to challenge the Lakewood Cougars at 7:15 p.m. on Saturday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

As a matter of fact, Squalicum put up the most points they have all season on Wednesday. They walked away with a 63-52 victory over Meridian. The game was the first time the Storm have beaten the Trojans on their court since December 21, 2021.

Blake Elston was a one-man wrecking crew as he shot 73% from the field to rack up 27 points and four steals. Another player making a difference was Orion Granberg-Kiddle, who posted ten points and seven rebounds.

Meanwhile, Lakewood hadn't done well against Lynden recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Cougars came out on top against the Lions by a score of 72-65. The Cougars' win was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.

Squalicum better keep an eye on Caleb Greenland. He was instrumental in Lakewood's win, going 7-for-13 on his way to 24 points in addition to six assists and six boards. Derek Willson was another key player, putting up five points.

Squalicum now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Lakewood, their record is now 3-0.

Squalicum came up short against Lakewood in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, falling 61-56. Can the Storm avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
