Baseball Game Preview: Grace Academy Knights vs. St. John's Catholic Prep Vikings

The Grace Academy Knights will head out on the road to take on the St. John's Catholic Prep Vikings at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Grace Academy came into their game on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against McConnellsburg, falling 16-2. The loss put an end to the Knights' undefeated start to the season.

Grace Academy saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jaeden Peterson, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double. That's the most RBI Peterson has posted since back in March of 2024.

Meanwhile, St. John's Catholic Prep faced Riverdale Baptist in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. St. John's Catholic Prep fell just short of Riverdale Baptist by a score of 7-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Vikings have suffered since April 26, 2024.

Having lost for the first time this season, Grace Academy fell to 2-1. As for St. John's Catholic Prep, their loss dropped their record down to 6-4.

Grace Academy took their win against St. John's Catholic Prep in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 10-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for Grace Academy since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
