Basketball Game Preview: Cane Bay Cobras vs. Berkeley Stags

Cane Bay and Berkeley are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2019, but not for long. The Cane Bay Cobras will welcome the Berkeley Stags at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The timing isn't great for Cane Bay: they have been struggling with seven straight losses at home, while Berkeley has snatched up five consecutive wins on the road.

On Monday, Cane Bay ended up a good deal behind Lucy Beckham and lost 46-29. While losing is never fun, the Cobras can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 205th, while the Bengals are ranked 70th).

Meanwhile, Berkeley humbled Stratford with a 75-44 victory. The Stags have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine matchups by 25 points or more this season.

Berkeley's victory bumped their record up to 13-4. As for Cane Bay, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-15.

Cane Bay came up short against Berkeley when the teams last played back in February of 2024, falling 39-28. Can Cane Bay avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
