Softball Game Preview: Lone Jack Mules vs. Wellington-Napoleon Tigers

The Lone Jack Mules are taking a road trip to challenge the Wellington-Napoleon Tigers at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.

Lone Jack is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 15 runs on Monday, they were much more limited against Concordia on Tuesday. They took a 5-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Fighting Orioles. The Mules' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Wellington-Napoleon never got on the board in their matchup on Monday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against St. Paul Lutheran on Tuesday. They blew past the Saints 21-6. Considering the Tigers' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Lone Jack's defeat dropped their record down to 11-8. As for Wellington-Napoleon, their win ended a nine-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-14.

Lone Jack came out on top in a nail-biter against Wellington-Napoleon in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, sneaking past 12-11. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Mules since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
