Football Recap: Holmes Comes Up Short Despite Amari Bond's Big Defensive Game

Holmes had lost four straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Friday they dropped down to 0-4 to make it five. They took a 56-46 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Currituck County Knights. The Aces gained 220 more yards on the day, but it was the Knights that made the best use of them.

Even if they lost, Holmes' defensive line still kept up the pressure with three sacks. In that department, Amari Bond was the leader with two.

As for Currituck County, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-1. Their offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Jamie Dance had another great game (as he tends to do), throwing for 112 yards and three TDs, while also rushing for 38 yards and one score.

Holmes has already played their next contest, a 75-20 victory against First Flight on the 19th. As for Currituck County, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next match, a 42-0 win against Bertie on the 19th.
