Basketball Recap: HOPE Academy Takes a Loss

HOPE Academy was the 65-55 winner over NorthPoint Christian Academy when they last played one another back in December of 2021, but their luck changed this time around. The HOPE Academy Royals fell 56-44 to the NorthPoint Christian Academy NightHawks on Tuesday. The Royals were down 48-25 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead NorthPoint Christian Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Micah Enriquez, who went 7 of 13 en route to 18 points along with eight steals and five rebounds. That's the most points Enriquez has posted since back in November of 2023. Gabe Spann was another key player, going 7 for 13 on his way to 15 points in addition to seven boards and six assists.

HOPE Academy is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-3. The slump could be explained by some tough opposition over that stretch, namely NorthPoint Christian Academy, Providence Classical, and Carolina Christian. As for NorthPoint Christian Academy, the win snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 7-7 record.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. HOPE Academy has already played their next match (against Providence Classical), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. NorthPoint Christian Academy will host Carolina Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. NorthPoint Christian Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 62.1 points per game this season.
