Softball Game Preview: Clay County Panthers vs. Poca Dots

The Clay County Panthers will venture away from home to face off against the Poca Dots at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Clay County is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to ten runs last Tuesday, they were much more limited against Roane County last Tuesday. They came up short against the Raiders, falling 11-2.

Meanwhile, Poca was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 15th straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 18-10 to Braxton County. Even if the Dots couldn't come away with the victory, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their hitters, which had struggled int the games prior.

Poca's defeat dropped their record down to 0-12. As for Clay County, their loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 5-3.
