Volleyball Recap: Pike Central Comes Up Short

Pike Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their 17th straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Perry Central Commodores. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Chargers of the 3-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

Jovie Mills paced Pike Central's offense, picking up three kills. Mills got some help from Braelyn Barnett and her four assists. Keysha Padgett controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Pike Central's defeat dropped their record down to 0-12. As for Perry Central, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 16-4.

Pike Central has already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Evansville Bosse on the 13th. As for Perry Central, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 2-0 win against South Spencer on the 13th.
