Softball Recap: Buckeye Extends Road Winning Streak to Six

Buckeye won the last time they faced Lakewood and things went their way on Thursday too. The Bucks blew past the Rangers 16-3. The result was nothing new for the Bucks, who have now won eight matches by nine runs or more so far this season.

Sarah Michaels was incredible, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with five stolen bases, four runs, and one double. She has been hot for a while, having posted at least one stolen base the last 12 times she's played. Eleanor Shaw also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Buckeye was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .395. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .304 or higher in six consecutive contests.

Buckeye's win was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-3. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Lakewood, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-3.

Coming up, Buckeye will welcome Revere at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Lakewood, they will head out on the road to take on St. Joseph Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
