Basketball Recap: Benjamin Mustangs vs. Munday Moguls
Benjamin entered their contest against Munday on Tuesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Benjamin Mustangs fell 61-53 to the Munday Moguls. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Moguls this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 65-40 back in January.

Despite the defeat, Benjamin saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Keegan Hayes almost dropped a double-double with 24 points and nine boards. Hayes' evening made it ten games in a row in which he has scored at least 16 points. Another player making a difference was Mauricio Silva, who posted ten points and six rebounds.
It was another big night for Jariyis Williams, who dropped a double-double with 27 points and 14 boards for Munday. That's the most rebounds Williams has posted since back in December of 2023. The team also got some help courtesy of Mance Phillips, who went 6-for-11 en route to 13 points and three steals.
The loss was their first at home , dropping their record down to 11-8. As for Munday, the victory was the 13th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 25-5.
Benjamin wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 52-44 win against Knox City on the 14th. As for Munday, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 78-28 victory against Northside on the 14th.
