Softball Recap: Macarthur Drops Highest Score of Season Against Decatur Eisenhower

MacArthur was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 19th straight defeat dating back to last season. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 12-11 heartbreaker at the hands of the Decatur Eisenhower Panthers. On the bright side, the 11- run effort marked the Generals' highest-scoring game to date.

Lacey Jackson led a balanced group of hitters, going 3-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Those runs marked the first that she has scored this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Casey Jackson, who went 3-for-5 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI.

MacArthur's loss dropped their record down to 0-10. As for Decatur Eisenhower, their victory ended a 13-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-8.

MacArthur and Decatur Eisenhower could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings. The Generals will take on Central A & M at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday with a big rank disadvantage (548 vs. 262). Meanwhile, Decatur Eisenhower (ranked 524th) will meet Springfield (ranked 110th) at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
