Basketball Game Preview: Broadway Gobblers vs. Spotswood Trailblazers

Broadway is 0-10 against Spotswood since February of 2020 but things could change on Friday. The Broadway Gobblers just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face the Spotswood Trailblazers at 5:30 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

On Thursday, Broadway was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 58-57 to Staunton. While losing is never fun, the Gobblers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 314th, while the Storm are ranked 65th).

Meanwhile, Spotswood came tearing into Wednesday's contest with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 34 points) and they left with even more momentum. They managed a 57-52 win over the Dragons.

This is the second loss in a row for Broadway and nudges their season record down to 3-11. As for Spotswood, they pushed their record up to 11-3 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Broadway was taken down by Spotswood 90-61 in their previous matchup back in December of 2024. Can Broadway avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
