Basketball Recap: Destin Takes a Loss

Destin was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They fell 48-35 to the North Bay Haven Academy Buccaneers. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Sharks this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 46-38 back in December of 2024.

Kaylee Goodpaster was her usual excellent self, putting up 20 points and four steals for North Bay Haven Academy. The contest was Goodpaster's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Paicey Millirons, who went 5 of 12 on her way to 12 points and three steals.

Destin's defeat dropped their record down to 2-11. As for North Bay Haven Academy, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-6.

Destin will welcome Pensacola Catholic at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for North Bay Haven Academy, they will venture away from home to take on Mosley at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday.
