League recap: Napoleon tops Bowling Green to extend winning streak

Northern Lakes recap Oct. 30, 2012

Napoleon extended the longest winning streak in Northern Lakes this week by beating Bowling Green, 41-21. This was the team's seventh consecutive win.

Southview took down Northview 62-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.

Maumee's dynamic duo of Steve Duby and Dominique King proved tough for Perrysburg to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Duby threw for 165 yards and two touchdowns and King had 60 yards receiving. Sean McGovern helped Maumee's passing attack out by catching six balls for 55 yards.

Steve Slocum provided a threat through the air and on the ground as the Yellowjackets bested the Panthers. He completed four passes for 52 yards and one touchdown and also ran for 219 yards. Slocum's favorite target this week was Nathaniel Patterson, who caught three passes for 50 yards.

Maumee's Duby and King have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Duby has thrown for 1724 yards this season, while King, a 6-foot-0 receiver, has 27 catches for 605 yards. Perrysburg's Slocum leads the league in rushing yards with 1261.

In 130 carries Andrew Schultz has accumulated 956 yard this year.

The Bobcats made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 6,628 from 6,846. The improvement came about via a 41-21 victory over Bowling Green last week.
