Basketball Game Preview: Rich Township Raptors vs. St. Laurence Vikings

The Rich Township Raptors will face off against the St. Laurence Vikings at 9:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both teams are still undefeated (Rich Township has four wins , while St. Laurence has five dating back to last season).

Rich Township will bounce into Saturday's game after beating Thornton, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. The Raptors managed a 49-44 win over the Wildcats on Thursday. The score was all tied up 18-18 at the break, but the Raptors were the better team in the second half.

Meanwhile, you're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter and that's exactly how it played out for St. Laurence on Wednesday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that they blew Comer out of the water with a 69-24 final score. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 48-11.

Rich Township's record is now 4-0. As for St. Laurence, their record now sits at 5-0.

Rich Township didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against St. Laurence in their previous matchup back in November of 2016, but they still walked away with a 55-51 victory. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was the Vikings' Justin Wierzgac, who shot 4-for-6 from downtown and almost dropped a double-double with 22 points and nine rebounds.
