The Haxtun Fightin' Bulldogs are taking a road trip to face off against the Brush Beetdiggers at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Haxtun is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.3 runs per game this season.

Haxtun lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Wiggins, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Thursday's contest. The Fightin' Bulldogs were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over the Tigers on Thursday. The Fightin' Bulldogs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight games by six runs or more this season.

The team relied heavily on Madden Larsen, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Carter Lock, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Haxtun kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Wiggins only managed one hit.

Meanwhile, Brush won against Lyons on Tuesday with five runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Thursday. The Beetdiggers came out on top against Weld Central by a score of 5-1. The Beetdiggers haven't had any issues with the Rebels recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Landon Mesch was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Trae Romero, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

Haxtun is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season. As for Brush, their record is now 9-5.

The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Saturday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Haxtun has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.9 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Brush struggles in that department as they've been averaging 8.2 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
