Volleyball Recap: Bard Early College Continues Home Dominance on Tuesday

Bard Early College waltzed into their game on Tuesday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They put the hurt on the St. Martin de Porres Lions with a sharp 3-0 win. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-0 last Wednesday.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Bard Early College took every set by at least 13 points. The final score came out to 25-10, 25-4, 25-12.

Alonso Ezell went supernova, getting nine digs and seven aces. Those seven aces gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Roberto Fernandez, who had six aces.

Ezell wasn't the only good server: Bard Early College was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 29 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least 13 aces every time they've taken the court this season.

Bard Early College's victory was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-0. As for St. Martin de Porres, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bard Early College will welcome John Marshall at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for St. Martin de Porres, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Providence Cristo Rey at 10:00 a.m. on the 12th.
