Basketball Recap: Eight Straight Home Wins for Shamokin Area

Shamokin Area had won seven straight home games and Joe Hile did his part to make it eight on Tuesday. The Shamokin Area Indians strolled past the Central Mountain Wildcats with points to spare, taking the game 61-47 thanks in part to Hile, who went 8 of 16 en route to 17 points in addition to seven rebounds and five assists. He is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 17 or more in the last three games he's played.

Another player making a difference was Colin Steinhart, who posted nine points and seven boards. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in rebounds.

Despite the loss, Central Mountain still got an impressive performance from Darius Shade, who put up eight points. Caleb Mahoney was another key player, putting up seven points.

Shamokin Area is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-2 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.3 points per game. As for Central Mountain, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-10.
