Baseball Recap: West Babylon Beats Centereach for Their Third Straight Win

West Babylon entered their tilt with Centereach on Monday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They walked away with a 6-1 victory over the Cougars. The Eagles have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Cougars, too.

Matt Critchly spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on three hits and racked up eight Ks.

At the plate, Xavier Estevez was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and one double. Another player making a difference was Elijah Outlaw, who got on base in two of his three plate appearances with two stolen bases.

West Babylon's win bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Centereach, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

West Babylon will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Cougars: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday.
