Soccer Game Preview: Loudon vs. South-Doyle

The Loudon Redskins will venture away from home to challenge the South-Doyle Cherokees at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Loudon will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.

Loudon is headed in fresh off scoring the most goals they have all season. While the 6-6 score might suggest a draw, it was the Redskins who were credited with the win on Tuesday. Loudon got it done in the shootout by posting four goals to Lenoir City's three. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for Loudon considering their one-goal performance the match before.

South-Doyle is headed into the contest having not lost since March 6 and will look to keep things rolling. They never let Alcoa get on the board and left with a 7-0 victory on Tuesday. Considering South-Doyle have won nine games by more than three goals this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Their offense was hitting Alcoa from everywhere, as six different players booted in a goal. Gideon Walker led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by himself.

South-Doyle has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-1-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 52 goals over those ten contests. As for Loudon, their victory bumped their record up to 6-3-2.

Loudon might still be hurting after the 5-0 defeat they got from South-Doyle in their previous matchup back in April. Can the Redskins avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
