Softball Game Preview: Brazosport Exporters vs. Columbia Roughnecks

Brazosport hasn't had much luck against Columbia recently, but that could start to change on Friday. Brazosport will be playing at home against Columbia at 5:30 p.m. Neither Brazosport nor Columbia posted many runs in their last games, so it might be the pitching crews that decide this one.

Brazosport fell victim to Needville and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They lost 11-0 to the Bluejays. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Exporters have suffered against the Bluejays since April 12, 2016.

Meanwhile, Columbia unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Friday. They fell 4-0 to Needville. The game marked the first time this season in which the Roughnecks were not able to get on the board.

Columbia saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kimber Moraw, who went 1-for-3 with one double. That double marked the first that Moraw hit this season.

Columbia's defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 5-1 and their overall record down to 9-6-1. As for Brazosport, their loss dropped their record down to 7-7.
