Basketball Recap: Nipomo Takes a Loss

Nipomo was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were outmatched by the Santa Maria Saints and fell 82-44. While losing is never fun, the Titans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 799th, while the Saints are ranked 92nd).

Nipomo's defeat dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Santa Maria, the win keeps them at an undefeated 6-0.

Nipomo will be taking part in a tournament against Paso Robles at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Santa Maria, they will take on Justin Garza in a tournament on Thursday. Santa Maria knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past six matches -- so hopefully Justin Garza likes a good challenge.
