Recap: Wayne County Yellow Jackets vs. Benedictine Cadets

The Wayne County Yellow Jackets''s game on Friday was all tied up 21-21 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They lost to Benedictine at home by a decisive 38-21 margin. It was the first time this season that Wayne County let down their fans at home.

When it comes to explaining why Wayne County lost, one person who can't be blamed is Matthew Fuller. Despite the final result, he rushed for 153 yards and three touchdowns. Fuller is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last six games he's played.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Benedictine to victory, but perhaps none more so than Bryce Baker, who gained 81 total yards and two touchdowns. Another player making a difference was Luke Kromenhoek, who threw for 151 yards and two touchdowns.

Wayne County's loss dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Benedictine, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 9-0.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wayne County will take on Southeast Bulloch at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Southeast Bulloch will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings (they are ranked 218th, while Wayne County is ranked 92nd). As for Benedictine, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Islands at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Islands comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
