Baseball Game Preview: Franklin Learning Center Bobcats vs. George Washington Eagles

The Franklin Learning Center Bobcats will head out to challenge the George Washington Eagles at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Franklin Learning Center has three straight victories, George Washington has four straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Franklin Learning Center is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They were the clear victors by a 24-1 margin over Science Leadership Academy at Beeber on Thursday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.

The team relied heavily on Robiel Bernard, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with seven stolen bases, four runs, and one double. Those four runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Efrain Rocha-Jimenez, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three stolen bases, and two runs.

Meanwhile, George Washington came up short against Roxborough on Friday, falling 12-6.

Franklin Learning Center's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-3. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 17.7 runs over those games. As for George Washington, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-7.
