Baseball Preview: Cave Spring Knights vs. Christiansburg Blue Demons        
        
		
            The Cave Spring Knights will face off against the Christiansburg Blue Demons at 5:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.
While Cave Spring's  victory against William Byrd wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Knights sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with  a  12-11  win over the Terriers  on Wednesday. The Knights' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most  runs they've scored all season.
 Sam Urgo made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he  didn't allow a single  earned run over four innings pitched. Urgo was even better at the plate,  going 3-for-4 with one  home run, three  runs,  and three  RBI.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Oliver Ingram, who  went 2-for-3 with five  RBI and two  doubles. The team also got some help courtesy of  Joe Farwell, who  scored a  run while  getting on base  in three of his four plate appearances.
 Cave Spring  kept the outfield on their toes and  finished the game with 12  hits. That's the most  hits they've managed all season.
 Meanwhile, Christiansburg won against Graham  on Monday with three  runs and they decided to stick to that  run total again  on Thursday. The Blue Demons had just enough and edged out PikeView  3-2. The  victory was familiar territory for the Blue Demons, who have now won three  contests in a row.
 The  win snapped Cave Spring's losing streak at three games  and leaves them with a 3-4 record. As for Christiansburg, their victory bumped their record up to 5-2.
 Cave Spring beat Christiansburg 4-1  when the teams last played  back in April of 2024. Will the Knights repeat their success,  or do  the Blue Demons have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
