Baseball Recap: Granite Hills Comes Up Short

If Granite Hills was feeling good fresh off their 11-1 takedown of Miller last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Cougars fell just short of the Barstow Aztecs by a score of 3-2 on Tuesday. The Cougars were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Aztecs earlier this season, when they won 6-1.

Granite Hills saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Vincent Jarvis, who went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases and two runs.

Granite Hills dropped their record down to 13-9 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Barstow, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-12.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Aztecs beat Granite Hills by a score of 7-4 on Wednesday.
