Basketball Recap: Wright Christian Comes Up Short

Wright Christian and Mingo Valley Christian squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Wright Christian had to settle for second. They were beaten by the Mingo Valley Christian Eagles 71-40. The Wildcats just can't catch a break and have now endured 12 losses in a row.

Leading Mingo Valley Christian to victory were Kai Chinowth and Matthew Clary. Chinowth went 7-for-11 en route to 22 points, while Clary went 6-for-15 on his way to 18 points. What's more, Chinowth also posted a 67% three-point shooting accuracy, which is the highest he's achieved since back in January. Harrison Chatham was another key player, putting up seven points in addition to seven boards and four steals.

Wright Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 3-18. As for Mingo Valley Christian, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 14-13.

Wright Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Mingo Valley Christian, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 65-62 win against Destiny Christian on the 17th.
