Flag Football Game Preview: University Trojans vs. Mission Viejo Diablos + Official Tickets

The University Trojans will head out to take on the Mission Viejo Diablos at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Mission Viejo took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on University, who comes in off a win.

University took a loss when they played away from home on Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by a 35-13 margin over Rosary Academy. The high-scoring effort was just what the Trojans needed considering they were shut out in their previous game.

A big part of University's win came down to the chemistry between Carson Cruz and her top target Arden Marchiorlatti. Cruz threw for 335 yards and five touchdowns while Marchiorlatti picked up 107 receiving yards and a pair of scores. That's the most passing yards Cruz has posted since back in August.

University's defense made their presence known, laying out the QB three times. In that department, Ella Carmichael was the leader with two sacks.

Meanwhile, after a string of five wins, Mission Viejo's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They took an 18-12 hit to the loss column at the hands of El Toro.

University's victory bumped their record up to 10-13. As for Mission Viejo, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-14.

University came up short against Mission Viejo in their previous matchup back in August of 2023, falling 12-7. Can the Trojans avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
