Softball Recap: Boyceville Picks Up Sixth Straight Win at Home

There's no place like home for Boyceville, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 8-7 victory over the Mondovi Buffaloes on Monday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Bulldogs have posted since April 10th.

Aubrey Malean made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out 13 batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and four unearned) runs off seven hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI.

In other batting news, Emma Harvey was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. Those two runs gave her a new career-high. Brooklyn Talmage was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Boyceville's victory was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-3. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.2 runs over those games. As for Mondovi, they now have a losing record of 5-6.

Looking ahead, Boyceville will venture away from home to take on Durand-Arkansaw at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Mondovi, they will welcome Elmwood/Plum City at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Buffaloes are facing the Wolves at the right time seeing as the Wolves are stuck on a seven-game losing streak.
