Baseball Game Preview: Vasquez Mustangs vs. Valley Torah Wolfpack

Vasquez is a perfect 10-0 against Valley Torah since March of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Vasquez Mustangs will be playing in front of their home fans against the Valley Torah Wolfpack at 4:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Vasquez has five straight victories, Valley Torah has 12 straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

If Vasquez beats Valley Torah with 11 runs on Tuesday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two matchups with that exact score. Vasquez was the clear victors by an 11-4 margin over Golden Valley on Monday. The result was nothing new for the Mustangs, who have now won three contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

Landon McGriff and Levi Real did most of the damage at the plate: McGriff scored four runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances, while Real scored two runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Those four runs gave McGriff a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Nate Jacobson, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with three RBI and one double.

Valley Torah played against Vasquez last Monday and lost via forfeit.

Vasquez's win was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Valley Torah, their loss dropped their record down to 0-1.
