Baseball Recap: North Pitt Takes a Loss

North Pitt was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They came up short against the Greene Central Rams, falling 16-6. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Rams this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 13-2 last Tuesday.

Quintaris Price made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances. He is becoming a predictor of North Pitt's success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is 2-1 (and 0-4 when he doesn't). Kolby Burroughs was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

North Pitt's loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Greene Central, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 4-2.

North Pitt didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 5-3 defeat against Nash Central on the 19th. As for Greene Central, they have also already played their next match, a 5-4 loss against SouthWest Edgecombe on the 18th.
